Chelle told me the other day that people who sleep after 12 every night are 72% more likely to suffer from depression. Haha. I think there is certain truth in that. Cos lately I can't seem to sleep till its at least past two. And in the day, I get like these sad feelings that come and go. I wouldn't call it depression cos its not a mental thing..it just feels like my heart's sick or something.

Two years, and i'm still having doubts about whether i should even be here in the first place.

Over the hols I've spoken to different friends from my batch and their A level stories are starting to freak me out.

I've just about started on my holiday homework. on top of that there's still truck loads of catching up to do before the semester starts next week:(

I can totally picture myself waking up only a week before A levels.

Well, the year has barely begun. I guess I get to choose to mess up or to work hard. Its only the 6th day of the new year and I already can't wait for it to end.

I've got dreams about the things I wanna do after graduating from junior stinking college.

and I'm scared, to be honest.

but the saving grace is that I know You are with me, always.

Its day 2 of 2010 and I'm a little late but I just wanna thank God for being ever so faithful and personal to me in 2009. JL mentioned the other day something that I thought really made sense...bout how easy it is for us humans to lose faith in things/people. That if you sat on a particular chair and it gave way, you wouldn't want to sit on it again(unless you're stupid). That if someone had betrayed your trust, it would take a long while before you to trust him again. Same theory. that if God had failed me, I wouldnt be here today proclaiming my faith.
So thank You Jesus, for 2009. where You showed me certain weaknesses that I had and taught me how to change. and where You set me free in areas only You and I understand. for caring even about the smallest details of my life.

The hols have been pretty meaningful so far! the 180 dance, net outreach steamboat party, the media fast, Edge Conference, Standard Chartered run, Prom, catching up with good friends..and there's the sports camp coming up, christmas coming up. There'll be carolling (wheee!) and christmas parties, thanksgiving parties=good food. I love holidays:D

Prom went pretty well..despite the programme being really boring. Everyone was just walking around with their cameras. like ~~~ heyyy take picture take picture!!^^^ you look nice okay see you around bye.
Okay, coming to think of it, it was kinda lame. Haha. It was a good experience nevertheless. maybe I don't feel it so much cos I am afterall, going back to school next year. Haha. Most of my friends went for post prom@ supperclub after that. Didn't want to go and I'm glad I didn't :)

I missed media but media didn't miss me at all.

I must admit I really gained from this:D Media fast forced me to focus on things that mattered more..its so cool everyone should try it:)

Edge Conference was off the hook! God was working in my heart the whole time. One thing that really left an impact on me was Pastor Matthew Barnett's testimony about how he had made his own plans e.g start a church or smth but God had a different and much bigger plan in mind. God lead him to start the Dream Centre(go google it).Its a church that houses the homeless, the hungry, the drug addicts, the prisoners, hookers and pimps, etc. He shared bout how so many of their lives were transformed by Jesus. Its so so amazing how God has plans for our lives that are immeasurably more than we can ever dream of.

so Wati and I did the 10k standard chartered run today. Last year we had our coach to pressure us to come under a certain timing but this year we didn't. And obviously, we are a thousand million times less-fit than we were last season so we kinda estimated that we would only last at most 5 km. But miraculously, we managed to run all 10 kilometers. We ran super duper slowly though..and I'm not telling you our timing. haha. Jo and Ally are INSANE. They ran FOURTY TWO STINKING KILOMETRES! Help me God, I'm suffering from an inferiority complex.

Tomorrow night is prom night. After effects of standard chartered + heels = calf muscle cramps. I can feel it coming!

Right now I need to get myself mentally prepared for the biggest feat of my entire life: a media fast (which starts tmr, 5th Nov and ends on 5th Dec). Media fast = no computer, no telly, no internet, no secular music, no newspapers/magazines/no wii/xbox/ps. and AND, no soccer matches. Haha. crazy right?
I'm not in it alone though, my church friends are doing it too:)
We'll be fasting till the end of the Believe conference..one month of prayer and fasting. We're gonna see breakthroughs..God's gonna do amazing things!

It'll be extremely hard but worth it:)

Net starts in a few minutes and my members are no where to be seeeeeen. Other than for my siblings who are like already here and will be forever till i get married and leave home.
This week's been pretty meaningless...cos its been PW, CHinese, PW then Chinese and then PW again, and finally Chinese. all of which I don't take...and still the school insists on our attendance. They expect us to do book reviews for three stinking weeks. So thankfully, I've got Geraldine and Amanda and Christie and a few other friends to keep me company...for the 2 out of 5 days that we were in school. Haha:)

Watched My Sister's Keeper which is so so sad, its still in my head:( I don't really like to watch sad movies because I don't like to keep thinking bout it but this one's an exception.
Mich called cos she wanted to catch it but I couldn't. I miss you sooooo much :(

Got me promo results back and I got D C E D E.. that in total adds up to 52 rank points, which means I can finally promote! YEAH MANN! That is a whoppin' 27 points more than what I scored last year, so I'm really glad. God is good! knew I could fall back on everlasting arms:)

This week's been one tiring but meaningful week..catching up with old friends, sleeping and waking up at unearthly hours, sleepover at me bestie's , going to the beach and getting sun burnt with her, meeting up with my awesome classmates for dinner, shopping with my sister whom I find so ever annoyingly awesome.

On a lower note however, my beloved Liverpool was down for their 4th consecutive loss after losing to Lyon..and to make things worse, Stevie, Torres, Riera and Johnson are still a doubt for Sunday's big game. But its just a rough patch yeah..it's a great opportunity for us to get behind the club and the gaffer, like we always did. CMON REDMEN:D

I can't wait for Saturday. My church gonna feed 5000 elderly folk at the MARINA FLOATING PLATFORM HOW COOL IS THAT:D
After all the crazy hard work put in..from the door-to-door invitations to the adminstration stuff to the setting up of the banquet tables and all that, can't believe its finally coming to past!

Turns out the repeat students don't get the one week break we really deserved...after all that slogging for the promos exams (okay so slogging is an overstatement). Instead, we're expected to finish up a couple of test papers by the end of this week. like what the heck?? haha.
But its actually alright cos we are allowed to do whatever we want the whole week, as long as we hand up the papers..so we ended up just bumming around school..which is not too bad, I enjoy it:)

Goshhh.
Last night's match against Chelsea felt like a horror movie:(
I can think of so many things we can blame Liverpool's current sub-standard form on...it could be Rafa's tactics(that sometimes just don't make sense) or the poor form of our centre backs, perhaps the absence of a Xabi Alonso, or maybe the lack of match-winners on the team(this I disagree),...etc.
Whatever the case, I hope it all gets better after the international break.

I got woken up by the noisy painters...my block's getting refurbished and so at every point in time there'll be workers on one of those 'lift' things..those things that hang outside the building on ropes that look like they might snap any moment. (I think they're called safety lifts, ironically)
Haha. Ya so anyway, my point is that the whole painting thing is getting really annoying cos its so awkward when you're doing on your stuff (i.e sleeping) there're people right outside your window...and sometimes they tap on the window pane to ask for a drink. Haha. Nothing against the painters though, cos they're just doing their job but its the whole idea...plus they're actually making my block look worse cos I don't fancy the new colours :/

Liverpool just lost to Fiorentina 2-0 which is such an anti climax way to mark the end of my promo exams:( But we deserved to lose cos the players just weren't up to standard. I can't wait for Agger and Aquilani to be back...it'll add more quality to the play!
Couldn't do much after my papers cos most of my friends have not ended their exams...so a few of us went to play lan. Hahaha that was like my second time playing lan in my entire life so in my opinion I've improved from a total noob to just plain noob but whatever it was fun and that's what matters. I'm not a cybergamezx world~ person and will never ever be one:D

Had my gp paper today. Can't quite remember the exact words of the question I chose...something about parents. I wouldn't say I did it well but I don't think I screwed up either..and that's good:)
Seriously can't wait for promos to end... Sa's promos start like 1-2 weeks earlier than other schools but I think I rather just have it over and done with. Plus, while my classmates are suffering (heeh) with Chinese and PW after promos, people like me can enjoy like at least a week of holidays! How awesome is that:D:D Small things like this are what I used to console myself for retaining...and it really works.
Anyway, a friend of mine from secondary school, Janice drew something for me

Promos begin tomorrow! Feels like just yesterday that I took my promos..my classmates and I were crazy over gunbound at that time - some game that NO one plays in this day and age and my username was mypromostmr. haha speaks a lot bout why I retained doesnt it?
Its quite scary to know this is my last chance but Im trusting in God. God has never failed me!

We had teachers day celebrations in school today..ended early so most of my friends are going back to their secondary schools. Not for me though, i never really had much to say to teachers.. besides, the ones i like have mostly left the school. And I wasnt exactly anyone's favourite student anyway. From what I recall, I loved giving my primary and lower secondary teachers hell and I wouldnt change anything bout that:D

So anyway, I realised I haven't blogged since forever..everytime i want to, either blogger has got some problem or i just don't know how to start. Though overall, its been pretty good:) And I can't believe i'm finally 18..doesn't really feel like it. I think I'd rather be 17 forever. 18 sounds a bit too much, like I can actually get hanged now cos I'm no longer protected by the law. Haha.

As of today I have 23 days left to start on my revision for promos..which I CANNOT afford to screw up, cos that would be very very extremely miserable. And my parents would go into a great depression cos it would mean I have to go to private school which costs a bombbbb. But im gonna start revision like tonight. for i must not fail. This year has been quite different as compared to last year cos I think I'm a lot more focussed? I try hard okay. Less ponning school, less skipping of lectures and actually completing tutorials. I hardly mention about my classmates from 09s23...but they're definately one awesome bunch:D Very different from 08s22 in that its much, much bigger...and kinda segregated, yet united. I'm really thankful that God has chosen to place me here.

And also, its been very different ever since I chose to quit soccer. I'd be lying if I said I missed all that pressure I put on myself and all the stress I got from trainings (those I just wanna forget) but I really miss just Soccer itself. I really really miss it. I miss knowing that I still have lots of opportunities to improve and the hope of actually improving my game. I feel like I still have a lot that I wanna prove to myself but now the chance to do so is kinda gone. But oh well, I hope this is not the end of it, and that God has more lined up for me, like in university or something.
On a lighter note, though I don't get to play, I can still watch:) Liverpool, the most awesomest club on Earth, came to town bout a month ago:D The whole experience was THE BOMB, from the time the team arrived till the day they left...and for poor souls like me who cannot afford to fly to Anfield (though I'm gonna save up) I consider it highlight of this year. You can ask my friend WF..the both of us were crazy enough to stalk them around (to put it bluntly) and it totally paid off cos we got to meet our favourite players in the end. You only get to do mad stuff like this in your youth and still get away with it so, might as well:D
Liverpool haven't had as a great a start as we wanted but its okay cos no other team in the premier league specialises in comebacks as much as we do!

I finally found enough courage to make the decision to quit soccer as a cca. I could see it coming since like forever but I just didnt want to actually accept it..yeah but now that I've made the decision, it'll be stupid to regret. Though I must admit its quite a relief from all the days I spent arguing and weighing the many factors out. Yes I did have a choice (though it meant going against my parent's will) cos at the end of the day it was I who had to make the decision but yeah I've decided to stop-for now. But of cos I'll continue playing soccer, just not competitively. Probably join a club next time. or smth. For now, what I'll miss so much is actually just being able to train with this year's team..oh well:'( But I know I can't have my heart in so many places at once. There are other things I want to fulfill. Besides, when God closes one door He'll open another, so yeah. looking forward to what He's instored next.

i finally got my new boots! me, mada, suria, jia and cleo went to queensway last sunday...we took serious- like almost 3 hours to choose our boots..until owner of the store got quite annoyed. hahha i always felt the store owners in queensway were sexist and they think women shouldn't play soccer or smth. Haha. Anyway, i finally decided on adipure! kaka wears those too.
Wore them for my last training and im totally digging it:D

it means a whole lot to poor souls like me who can't just travel to Anfield as and when i want to. (although i'm totally praying hard i'll get to see it before it tears down) now i just hope its true:D

I didn't go to school today cos i couldn't get out of bed. So tiredX50039 and my shin muscles were super tight from yesterday's cross country and training. Did some math but not exactly productive cos there were just too many distractions at home haha. And then i went down to school to run intervals with jolena, wati, marissa. I feel so accomplished..me and jo did 6X1km intervals. haha you keep thinking like you're done at one round but NOO theres still like 1 n half more rounds to go. But yeah when you finally complete it its like shiokasxz:D

haha i didnt eat my dinner and my mom threw it away. now im full of regret cos i'm hungry and surviving on bread with nutella-the most basic food:( Training was quite different today..cos it was raining like dawg and there was lightning risk alert thing so we couldnt use the field. we ended up doing our beep test along the classroom corridors of bowen. Super narrow, slippery so we had to do it in pairs. hahahaa funny. i'm really happy that my score improved though, all the 12X400m intervals under the burning sun with my teammates finally making sense. hahaha:D
and some of us went to frolick after training to chillaz for a short while. on the way back jo and i had a stupid low IQ conversation about thunders hahahaha. I love conversations with jo..everything becomes something to laugh at hahha:)

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.

Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen."

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one."
Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.

"Hah, he thought. "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor."

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.

"Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man."I had forgotten that in you a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

it's been fine so far..met my new classmates. finally!
havent really got to mix around though..cos its just mass lectures for 2 weeks, and everyone's still hanging out with their orientation groups during breaks. And i found that i really like hanging out with the people in my og :)
My new class's really a mix of all sorts of people...not that its a bad thing or what, but it really makes me appreciate my old classmates from 08s22. Every single one of them-
wanfong, joyce, wenyi, geri, nick yoong, nick kang, nick lee, miko, sam, farid, jared, alwin, marcus, junjia, weisong, weixiong and hao chi. Such a rare, awesome combination of people:)

I miss all the times we played ball (all sorts of ballz, and with miko's frisbee) during breaks, the times we slept as a class during lectures, the ~~many~~ times we hung out at ps, the times we messed the canteen/classrooms up with our birthday bashes, the times we bought the same drinks and food, the times we made yuen xiang hao want to commit suicide, the times we played guitar hero, the times we got stuff stuck on roofs...! haha.

I don't think 09S23 will ever be like 08S22. But yeah, i'm hoping it'll still be awesome fun.
FUN ASIDE, im gonna study hard this year! Dont wanna retain again! hahha. not like i'm allowed to anyway.

Today's the first official day of school for the J1s...so it was kinda messy with all the new faces coming in and stuff. At first us retainees werent allowed to go for orientation but after all our protests the p finally gave in:D Can't say orientation is the best but its definitely wayyy better than having remedials. So far my og's been okay..only met a couple of people so far. Thankfully there's weisong, junjia (the good ol classmates) and other retainee friends:) Tomorrow will probably be a lot more fun than today but i'm still leaving early regardless. cos Tuesdays are my only rest days and i need to make full use of it by leaving school early.

I am so darn glad i made it through today:) Last night all i could do was dread going through today. I had guessed nothing particularly bad was gonna happen..but it was just the whole idea of going back to routine and urgh, Wednesdays are the longest days of the week. 3 three hour lessons and then training- we had a beep test..and it didnt help that i was still feeling sick.
haha. Forgive me for being such a pessimist..usually i try to look on the brighter side of things. But yeah, guess what. Today's coming to an end.. and it wasn't half as bad as i expected it to be.
While walking to school this morning and complaining to God, he reminded me that He himself made this day and that I can't skip it but He'll hold my hand through it.

WHHHEEEE:) me and Wati did our 12x400m intervals for compulsory self-training(o.O) today. Intervals is freaaking tiring.. by like the third round you wanna die ah! hahaha. And at 2pm..the sun..HAWWT!
Me, Mada and Suria were supposed go look for new boots today but in the end we couldn't..not today:/ We were really looking forward to buying our boots.. I was thinking Nike Tiempo? I like Ally's Ronaldinho Tiempo boots:D I'm so bored of my present ones..they're too big. And they're black, which means it absorbs heat from the field and burns your feet! It really makes a difference mentally haha.

Anyway, today I got caught by one of Gill's accomplices during spotcheck. for my skirt. Not because it was too short but because I folded the top. Like HelloWoman? I CAN"T BREATHE PROPERLY with the skirt above my waist. The curly old teacher was like scolding me furiously in mandrin and she whacked me HARD! What siol. haha she think i her granddaughter ah! And she called my mom..who was sleeping at home. The funniest was when i was walking away she called me back, put her hand on my shoulder and said (in mandrin) "Are you angry with me? Smile! SMILE!!" hahahhahhaha i didnt want to smile but i ended up laughing cos she was being so retard. haha.

I can't wait for tmr- cny celebrations which means we end at 1230. AWESOME:)

First day of school was a mix of emotions.
The Morning was really upsetting...it really stinks to see everyone move on to J2 and kinda like leaving you behind or smth. Okay whatever. Of course it was also due to the fact that its the first day after a long break...and like having to wake up early and stuff is just unimaginable:/

Then it got better in the Afternoon...the pink shirt math teacher was really nice. (own mrs chanX1000000) and GASP guess who's our physics teacher?!! YUUUUEEEN hahaa.
Heh everyone in the class was just giving him the blank look throughout the entire lesson.
yeah and then i met 08S22 having their break and that, for some reason made me feel a lot better:)

Anyway i have to admit my retainee timetable just ownz everyone's! Really:D
Because of that, i had a big break in between end of sch and training so i went home for about 2 hours plus. And i read my twilight book! hahhaa. i'm determined to finish the entire book so i can set a personal record of thickest book ever read. :))

Training was really fun. As usual, stupid hilarious things would happen and this time it was Jolena and her butt-ball. HAHAHAHAHA!! You should have seen everyone's expressions: priceless. hahhaa. And the evening weather was just awesome.

As much as i detest it, school IS starting tmr and i know we hit the ground running...especially cos i just found out that i have to take 3 tests for my 3 h2 subjects by this Wednesday. And how i fair in these 3 papers will determine whether or not i get to play soccer. I have no clue what the definition of 'play' is but i don't wanna risk anything. The problem is that i'm not ready to be tested on the whole J1 stuff yet...I mean, there's still a whole load of things i don't understand, not that i haven't tried to.
Oh well, whatever.
I'm so not looking forward to school..mainly cos i haven't had enough of the hols. (Where did all my holiday days go to!?)
Haha. This year's gonna be crazy..
I'll have to juggle the studies part, adjusting into a new cohort/class, crazy soccer training schedules(season is starting zomg). And stepping up as a net leader-the commitment and responsibility is really gonna be a challenge.
But yeah, God promised to be with me through it all. I feel a lot better already. Knowing that if i fall, He'd pick me up and put me back on my feet :D

The LIW class that I'm taking this semester, Casting Out Demons is freakingggggg cool. We learn all about the different kinds of demons and stuff. And Richard, the guy who's teaching the class told us a lot of the interesting experiences he had when dealing with demon possesed people. And the main point gathered from today's lesson?

Met up with Vanessa today and guesss whaaaaaaaat! We watched TWILIGHT!! hah its the second time for both of us but it was still exciting..Edward Cullen (note to M: NOT Robert, just Edward) is still cool as ever. And what made it more exciting was that we were the only ones in the whole cinema. just the 2 of us:D Freaky~~ hahaha yeah and oh Vanessa convinced me to read the twilight BOOK and ive actually started on it...which is a miracle cos i havent read a book since like primary school. Okay i have..but i never manage to complete reading them. (except for Macbeth and all the lit texts) But the twilight book is really nice so i might actually complete it. haha we'll see.

I almost died during self-training today. Okay it wasnt even self-training to begin with..we got cheated! So much for practicing long ballz and shooting and all that appealing stuff. Haha. but i guess today's training was good cos we needed it! (after all the nonstop christmas junk food-i've been eating chocolates for breakfast almost everyday since christmas season) Yeah anyway, i had to run off the field twice to puke cos my stomach was just feeling really really queasy the entire time. What the rats hat(haha) is going wrong with my body! GRRR. And i had ALOT of trouble going home from st wilfrids...although my house is just slightly over the bridge. I think i took like 10 mintues to cross just the bridge alone. hahhaa. I was really feeling sick like dog and i was gonna faint any moment so i just sat on the bridge for like a long time and had my own pity party. Yes but END OF STORY= I MADE IT HOME.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS

watchnight was gooooood. We had an overnight movie marathon thing -but i don't think anyone really watched movies hahhaa. i only watched like half an hour of toystory (cos me and ces found like the whole bunch of beanbags in that room hahah shiok) but we got bored after awhile cos it was like our 100000000th time watching it. haha so we went to the Narnia room which was FREEZIN' ICE COLDDD..Gladys said it was probly cos of the winterwonderland party..no one had bothered to adjust it back to normal air con temperature hahhaa. i gave up after like 5 mins and a few of us played tissue volleyball hahahhaa funnnny! and captains ball with a balloon which just doesnt work haha. and i played like Wii mario racing and got owned by qianhui OMG ROARHRHRR HOW CAN THIS BE!!!

AND at 4am we went to bukit timah to eat:D hahahh and on the way there everyone got so high on the church bus. We played this retarded game like one team would sing a song and then stop at any word, and the other team would have to sing another song starting from that word. hahaha:D:D:D:D

we reached home at around 8am and i slept till about 2pm so technically all that happened just this morning0.o

fellow teammates and i caught the singapore vietnam game. I was so tempted to wear the communism shirt that i bought from vietnam but thank God i didnt cos i would've been stoned to death..apparently there was like some mini riot thing going on after the match haha. Like singapore fans threw stuff, and according to my friend, some dude did like flying kicks at the vietnam fans 0.o hahhaa..cool.
but the LIVERPOOL V ARSEnal beats the singapore vietnam match any day. would have been better if we had won though.

MONDAY
was kinda dreamy, i can't remember what happened.
OH.but there was carolling at night:D I'll post the pictures later! And after carolling, we rushed down to joel leong's house to throw an early surprise birthday celebration. hahaa:D Monday was also Sharmian and Litkian's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y'ALL:)

team day:) We played footsal with some of the ruggers at the cage...really cool place. we played from like 9-1pm but it passed really fast. somehow i think the place being really remote and like set apart for soccer makes it more fun altogether. hahaah and tessa was like really on form. she scored in every single match we played lah wth tessa! why must you go ausssie:( i dont care she has to do a kazhakstan cultural dance for us before she goes!
yeah, and then after that we went for bowling! which i wont talk much about cos i sucked at it.

Last Saturday.
jolena, siyi, weena, ci, tessa and i went to help coach's church with the ccis event (Celebrate Christmas in Singapore) at orchard. Its an annual event i think..cos i remember my cca doing a few performances and stuff a few years back! haha i really miss those times. But anyway, i feel this year's was a little more purposeful cos we managed to tell people why we actually celebrate Christmas. I think a lot of people have the misconception about Christmas, especially with all the commercial influences we have today. Ask anyone on the streets what comes to mind when they think of Christmas, they're most likely to mention Santa Claus, Christmas Trees, Candy Canes, Presents, Being nice, Giving,...etc. But truth is, all of these have little to no relations to Christmas at all..yeah so anyway, because i think its important to remind people what Christmas is really about, here i go:

The Birth of Jesus Christ (Matt 1:18-24)

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be born to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Darnnn im supposed to be sleeping over at michelle's right now but we had to postpone it AGAIN:( ohwell.
Today's quite a bad day...especially cos i totally messed up during training. In fact, its been like that all week :/ I realised from soccer that i don't do too well under pressure. I know of friends who see pressure as a form of motivation but for me, the more pressure im under, the more i crack. So yeah..but i'll overcome this! And i really can't wait for the 2 weeks break cos i wanna self-train and work on the areas im bad at e.g too many touches, toe poking the ball and stuff!

Haha okay serious things first..
im really glad i went there expecting from God cos He did not disappoint. Things are different when you go to youth camp expecting something. Way before the camp i thought a lot about how much ive failed Him this year in different areas of my life. I admit that i was really distracted by the many things going on around me...this year's come and gone in a blink of an eye and im looking back and wondering : What have i done this year that really counted? And i think that if i were God, i'd really be disappointed in Jacinth. But no. God, in all His grace reassured me that He still believed in me, and that im still very much in His thoughts and plans. In fact, i'm glad im retaining next year cos now im given another chance at making things right:) To be honest, it wasn't the sessions or the worship that really impacted me this camp. God just had to show up at the last moment of the last session...and that was all I needed to know that He still loves me very much. Now i'm ready and eagerly anticipating Year 2009:)

Okay now about the camp games and rooms and stuff! i wanted to blog a long time ago but i just didnt have the photos and all. I packed everything in except my camera:( i just KNEW i forgot something. GRRR. but thanks to Johnson, he posted all his photos on wtba. The games were awesome! Very different from the previous years though..like there was a whole storyline thing throughout the whole camp. My favourite game was the captains ball game but this time there were four teams playing against each other at one go and as time went by, more and more balls got added into the game. E.g basketball=1 point, soccerball=2 points, rugby ball=3 points, tennis ball=5 points, ping pong ball=7 points, cabbage=8 points, tomato=9points, chicken=10 points, and the special bouncy ball is like bonus points. something like that. This game was HILARIOUS. hahahha freaking retarded.. someone shouldve taken a video! Everyone was like fighting for the other balls but my group kept hogging the chickens hahhaha.

And during the free time some of us wanted to swim but the annoying lifeguard didnt let us in cos we wanted to jump in in tshirts n shorts. So in the end only the guys could cos they could just take out their shirts:/ And we the females almost quarrelled with the lifeguard cos he allowed some random family to swim and the father was wearing a shirt. But the lifeguard kept insisting that that was a special shirt so its different. ROARRR! okay why am i telling this story its not worth telling. But anyway, so we went to play touch rugby which turned out to be very fun and we couldnt get enough of it:D

The 4 hours bus ride home seemed really short cos we got very high with all the singing and stuff:)

and i got to talk to Zinnia a lot:) Been wanting to catch up with her for ages.

first of all, HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY VANESSA!!!!!!!
of cos JIN's which was on the 5th, Miko's on the 4th and Mathieu on the 6th. I know i say this every year but i still think the consecutive birth dates thing is really cool and i totally dig it. December is like everyone's birthday lah haha.
My week was kinda hectic..trainings and lotsa birthdays.
Thursday my classmates and i threw a bbq party for Miko and Weisong at Wanfong's place:D i'll post up the photos when im back from youth camp!
And then there was Jo Wong's party at The Caribbean. That condo's like omg freaking enormous and freaking NICE. its really damn nice.. i should have took photos:( There's like this river in the middle of the condo! and the carpark alone is so huge, me and germaine got lost in it0.0 hahhaha. I dontknow how to describe la but it was really grand, like some country club or something. And it was so funny cos a few of the guys tried to dunk Marcus..but they didnt know that everyone else's plan was to dunk them. So when they threw Marcus in, we pushed them in along with him. hahahha:D okay but it wasnt funny when i got dunked myself thanks to Michelle and her scheming plot! Especially cos i was wearing SHOES. and i was planning to wear those for standard charted! haha but thank God they were more or less dried by today.

Yeah, so today! The Standard Chartered run was good, just that i was wearing an ankle guard to protect my ankle but it ended up giving me lots of problems. I made it so tight that my foot felt numb and blood-deprived throughout the whole run..but i guess it was still right to wear the guard cos my ankle's still kinda unstable on its own:/ While we did our last 100m, we were separated into 2 lanes, the 10km and 42km runners. So we could see how much we paled in comparison..but i'm pleased because last year this time, i would never have imagined myself running this. Shows that you should never put a lid on your potential:) God is good yeah!

today's training ended at 1.30:D im so relived that we're actually ending earlier from now on. cos 9-5pm is really all killer no filler! haha. Today we played against some little boys team and throughout the whole match i was having a headache and felt like puking but i was trying not to. Then in the last 3 minutes of the game i could really feel the vomit coming up my esophagus(whatever i dont take bio) and since im really nice i didnt puke on the field (its freaking astroturf) so i ran to some random drain and puked out a whole load of crap:( Im quite sure it consisted of the bananas that we ate in the morning.hahhaha. unneccesary infomation heh.

i'll upload the photos of the vietnam trip soon! but for now im just gonna blog without pictures. And since im bored while waiting for my fellow net homies to arrive, im gonna describe the CUCHI TUNNEL:D
Cuchi Tunnel is this really gross and sicko narrow tunnel thats like the size of me crouching down, made of mud and goes 3-4 levels underground. You have to literally duck-walk your way through for about 5 minutes. Occasionally you would be forced to jump/slide down and also, if you're not careful (like me) you confirm bang your head on the thing. Lotsa pot holes everywhere and oh ya, THERE"RE *ZOMGGG* FROGS!! All these in pitch darkness.
I almost-swear I developed claustrophobia but it was a total fun and good team building experience(cos you have no choice but to rely on the person in front of you)
Oh ya i left out one important fact! the Cuchi Tunnel was built by the Vietnamese during the Vietnam war and it was one of the main reasons why they won (the Americans were apparently too huge to fit in-no offence) Vietnamese are really smart people. The tour guide showed us the boobie traps they made...drop inside no joke siol! I'll post the pictures soon:D

i really wish the trip was longer though.. cos four days is really not much at all. (but enough to make me miss me dearest fwenxz) I love Vietnam cos it reminded me alot of Thailand..heh. and also cos the company was great.. i think the whole experience was good bonding time for the team,including the J2s:)
But what sucked was that i sprained my ankle on the second day while we were warming up for the first match:( Like who the heck gets injured during warm up! 0.0
Well, ME. While we were doing the usual karaoke thing(no not singing..its a kind of warm up where you like run criss cross sideways) and we were doing it on concrete floor with boots on...so that made it really slippery and i fell awkwardly on my ankle:( You should've seen how swollen it got after that...seriously, it looked as though it got deformed by some Agent Orange thing(no offence) I was really disappointed because i couldnt play at all for the matches..was really looking forward to playing with the Vietnamese people:(
Anyway, the Vietnamese girls team was like freaking pro...they played like guys la. haha. very skilled and very very fit. Although it started raining really heavily and there was lightning and all, the game still went on. And watching from the sidelines, i honestly felt we fought well..so even though we lost, it was a good experience altogther. Our guys team won their guys team though :)

i'll be leaving for Vietnam till thursday.My teammates and I are gonna be visiting and playing friendlies with 2 colleges...i heard that they're really really fit people..so yeah, good game for us. haha. My dad said that those kids get up like really early before school to play soccer on the streets so you can imagine how passionate they are. Okay that was in the past, not sure bout now..but still, you'd never get that in Singapore. If you do, ..its not singapore anymore. 0.0 haha. I'm really glad i get to go on this trip. Cos initally, I wanted to go on the Vietnam ocip trip but i didnt get in. Then they had a few vacancies but i turned the opportunity down cos of various commitments and reasons. But thank God for opening another door:) This time, i'm going there for soccer! wow. Ces is in Vietnam right now having ocip...hopefully i'll bump into her in the airport or something! I miss you bbudddddd!! :D

My mom's off station too...when she's gone the house's actually alot more chillaxed! but i miss her alot:/ And my dad was trying really hard to be both mom and dad today. ie. nagging

omgggg there's a freaking LIZARD on the loose somewhere near my bed. ive already spammed baygon all around the room so hopefully it dies! or at least get outta my rooom you stupid liz! For the record, any insect that comes into my room never gets out ALIVE. I'll get my coolios Daddios or my bravo brother to beat it up. im not that cruel though, cos i do love animals..i just have lizard phobia. Lizards are not animals anyway.

Today we had a friendly against Bowen Sec. and Bowen had not enough players so i played for them in the first half...and it felt really awkward cos i didnt know any of their names. Throughout the entire game i was just like "here! here! passs hereeeee!" a method which didnt really work but whatever la. i'm such a traitor cos i did the MAJULAH BOWEN! whooosh thing with them. hahha. Thank God the second half i went back to the good ol saints. The final score was 2 nil to us..which isnt quite like the score we had the last time we played them but yeah.. i think we played well. good job Saints! :)

I can't wait for 180:) Mich and i went down to yishun the other day to support the dance people. And you guys were doing really well! every single one of you (gladys, rane, kimberly, shawn, christian, joey, joel, silas,marcus) you guys rock. Got this off wtba..its so cute i gotta post it here

after training i took like some 1 hour mrt ride to Yiwei's party. i had to get on a cab cos i had no idea how to get there from the station and couldnt contact anyone cos my stupid phone kept switching off by itself. and the cab driver was so annoying cos he kept driving me to the wrong condo. He was like: "wah this place so big, so many condos..we go one by one see okay?.. (drives really slowly) this one?...no ah.....this one?.....no ahhh....this one?...no.." i got really pissed after like 5 minutes of that so i just alighted and walked. haha. and thank God i did cos i found it like the next moment. Those at the party were mostly from 4/5, some of whom i haven't since last year...but everyone's still more or less the same la. haha.

we had a friendly against rj at st.wilfred's and i think overall we played well..need to work more on our communication on the field though. Wati and i were just saying the other day how off field we can talk all the rubbish nonsense but on field we suddenly talk so much lesser. hahaha..

after the game i joined my classmates at WF's house...our attempt at having a class chalet( just wthout the actual chalet)..turned out really fine:D

today's training was just tiring ttm. we ended off with a 6v6 on a FULL FIELD (okay without the penalty boxes but still,) how tiring is that?? and it didnt help that the field was damn muddy hahaah but thats not new la cos its been raining hard pretty much everyday. but anyway it was good training and we need it cos we'll be playing a friendly against RJ this wed. 0.0
Tmr's tuesday which means gym training...and my right arm is still aching:/ this morning i was so sure i sprained/dislocated/broke it or smth cos for no reason it was hurting like crap:( it was the very reason why i was late for school.. cos i took soooo darn long to wear my clothes, my shoes..etc. sounds stupid but its not funny lah! anyway i suspect i slept on my arm the entire night and my blood couldnt flow or something. haha
Oh and today during training we found this blind pigeon omg. (its eyes were white)...but we did a good deed by carrying it to a safer and dryer spot, away from the flying footballz which were potential death hazards to the max for blindbird@gallery .actually Tessa was the one who moved the bird..none of us dared to touch it. but tessa is the ultimate lah! i remember like there was once we saw some lizard/frog thing and we were all freaking out but Tessa chased after the thing and held it in her hand...something like that. haha.

i've been wanting to blog about this for a long time but i kept forgetting. Just last week, my neighbour almost got kidnapped right outside my house(along the common corridor). What happend was while she was walking out of the lift and towards her unit, some freak came from behind and covered her mouth and attempted to pull her away. and she obviously struggled and screamed and thank God the stupid coward ran away. The music from my computer was kinda loud so i didnt really hear the commotion happening..but i did hear her screaming(freaking loud). And (okay i feel really bad bout this) i sort of opened my door a little to see what was happening and i saw her like facing her house and shouting for her mother (the guy had got away by then) and i thought she was just like playing or throwing tantrums or smth ( cos my neighbours ALWAYS do that) so i just ignored her and went back to what i was doing. but the shouting got really loud and this time i opened the gate and went out. yeah i then realised what had happened and we called the police and all...and for like the next 3 hours there were alot of policemen doing their CSI stuff e.g taking fingerprints/dna and asking all the questions and stuff. My neighbour was really traumatized but she's fine now:) What's most freaky is that this isnt the first time things like this happened outside my house. So we're now planning to install 2 cameras at the corridors. HAHA.

was just talking to my budd jolene the other day on the phone..and we were talking bout how much it sucks that everything's changing. eg. the people around you, the stuff you do daily..etc. i don't know bout you but i think i really dread changes...especially when things are all going fine. i remember how much i hated it when we had to leave secondary school...it sucked hard cos it meant getting out of my comfort zone and sort of 'losing' the people around me...and then i got into YJC. and i think if you read my earlier posts, i was complaining quite abit. but then i found that i actually liked the people there..alot! but then it was time to leave, again. and here am i at SA. and honestly i hated SA at the beginning. Just the first day here was enough to make me wanna leave and go back to YJ (i even called their principal and pleaded for them to take me back0.o) but then i felt God tell me to just stay on and see how well things will work out. and they did:) things worked out well...i got myself into,in my opinion,the best possible cca alive, and i found my class to be just about the coolest class in the whole of sajc. I love every inch, every funny, crazy, annoying, stupid, retarded, wacky moment of 08S22 and I'm gonna miss them so much.

but shucks. its now time for change, again :/

today was officially the most productive day for me and my group mates, in the whole history of our pw days! though it has to be just a day away from our OP date. but still, better late than never! we met in school at bout 10 plus and all the way till bout 3 plus we were practising our skit for OP. but it ended pretty sucky-ly cos mr wee was in a total pms mood..apparently we were still lacking in alot of areas:( i honestly find we're doing okay for a bunch of slackers lah. and we were actually proud of the skit we came up with..but mr wee kinda ruined the whole mood:/
so yeah. AND my group was so hardworking, we actually met up after everyone's cca trainings..(that's like 7 plus) and we worked till like 9.30pm. how awesome are we?! :D:D

Anyway. how ironic. cos the day that i finally finish my OP is the day that i officially get really busy! cos of this study-training schedule my cca implemented. Every day of my hols, we'll be having trainings from 3-5 pm (or 5-7pm i'm not sure) and on every monday, thurs and friday, there's study session from 9am-12. yeah i'm already starting to feel very, very overwhelmed:/ and i have absolutely no clue how im gonna find time to spend with the people i really wanna spend time with:'(
On a higher note, however, i'll get to be with my teammates alot...which is awesome:D
and i can really use the trainings:) a lot of areas i wanna improve in.

today was kinda like family day! my dad drove us to our old house at hougang. we shifted when i was about 4...so i dont really know that place well. but still, i have alot of images and good memories there. i know its kinda weird but yeah we went up to the 11th floor, to the exact unit where we used to live. and my dad recognised some of the neighbours...how cool is that?? the only neighbour i can really remember is this malay boy that me and my brother used to play with everyday. if im not wrong he's still living there cos we walked past his unit and there was a malay woman praying inside. anddddd there was an army uniform hanging outside the house. so yeah, i bet its him! i shouldve said Hi :(
i remmeber when one time, me and my bro and him were playign with this toy truck along the corridor..and somehow, the truck flew downstairs. me and my bro were like zomggg cos downstairs was like WOAHHH NO JOKE. but that heroic malay dude ran all the way down to pick it up and he came up panting and holding the smashed up truck..and like from then on we thought of him as like really brave or smth. hahah. and i remember once he ran over my doll named Nigel (yes its a boy doll. not some bimbo barbie doll) with his bike by accident and left this really huge black bicycle track mark on it.

no i didnt make even the conditional promotion mark..
still 2 rank points short after all that stuff. i'm slowly resigning to the fact that i am still gonna be J1 next year. Unless you're in my shoes, you probly wont understand how much that sucks. it feels like i've totally wasted one whole year of effort. all the tutorials, lectures that ive miraculously survived through - im gonna have to go through them again. and im gonna have to re-adjust to having brand new younger-than-me classmates. (well im fine with making new friends but i really really really love my present classmates..and i have no clue what my new classmates are gonna be like)

i just learnt today that i'm this close to retaining. My results arent exactly the prettiest thing to look at: E U U S S C
which leaves me a whopping 13 rank points short of the promotion criteria.
wow. jacinth you've done it. now all i have left is God's grace. which, dont get me wrong, is definately sufficient for me. but yeah, i know sins and mistakes have their consequences. and now, its whether or not God thinks its best for me to repeat j1 or to go ahead.well, God is sovereign and i trust Him.
what'll stink the most though, is having to leave my classmates. its rare to find such an awesome combination of people put together.
but what the heck, its not thursday yet. who knows cos things might just change.

right now im suffering with a stomachache and the weirdo puking feeling is back to haunt me.
the only thing i feel like doing now is play gunbound with my classmateys hahaha. WENYI IM WAITING FOR YOU STOP PLAYING LITTLE FIGHTERS LAH!
my class has this recent fetish over old games like crazy taxi, little fighters, gunbound, and my weird friend woo wanfong likes pinball which is so boring i could fall asleep at the start of the game. hahaha okay whatever one mans meats another man's poison! minesweeper is way more fun:P
i remember when my dad had this sudden craze over minesweeper. hahhaa and like everyday when he gets home from work he'd be like : "Okay let Daddy use the computer, 5 mins only!"
and whoever the unlucky soul at the computer was had no choice but to let him use it. and yes, he would open MINESWEEPER. hahahaha its freaking hilarious now that i think bout it. but yeah that was a long time ago! haha.

okay im off to play gunbound!
oh yeah and one day we're gonna have the ultimate showdown:

this week's been particularly tiring for me, pw from 8-4pm and then training till bout 7 plus..everyday! im glad i survived and am halfway there. but i guess it isnt all that bad. i mean, for pw, my teacher's barely in class so my classmates and i spend most of the time sleeping or playing crazy taxi or just something that's not pw-ish. and training has been really fun. just kinda draining with little recovery time. but yeah:)

but so far, the results ive got from my promos arent exactly the best. in fact, now i cant help but really worry about whether i can promote or not. things havent been turning out the way i thought they would la. i remember when my promos just ended i was still quite sure i would make it. my mom would be like "how was your papers? can promote not?" then i'd be like "aiyah wont retain one la" but now its like a different story.
but yeah, im trying not to think bout it anymore till i get all my papers back:) whats done is done anyway.
for pw my group is like really screwd. haha.blame it on our lack of enthusiasm for the subject0.o we didnt exactly do our best earlier in the year:( so hopefully during this period of time we can really rush and get somewhere with our work.

SATURDAY/my uncle called me up at the last minute cos he had an extra ticket to the F1 qualifying race. and i just couldnt refuse haha:) but because of that, i couldnt watch the derby match. but we won anyway. i honestly think this is gna be liverpool's season..if we keep things this way, that is.

MONDAY/met up with my good ol buddy jolene! we finally got to hang out together the entire day which was totally awesome:D

haha we ended up watching mamma mia, cos there wasnt exactly a wide variey of choices.its so unlike us to watch that kinda show but it actually turned out to be very entertaining haha. and then we went to queensway cos i wanted to get this season's home jersey, which im still trying my dad to get me. haha.

Jolene has this photo of us when we were primary 1 sitting on the same canteen table (we only knew each other in p4) and somehow i was in the photo. hahhaaa
in primary sch we always got into trouble with teachers. and i remember we were really really rude kids. like me and her were just talking bout how we would always just ask ppl to shut up whenever we felt like it and we how we always argued and told each other off. hahaha. omg i miss those days.

TUES/went for training at around noon. our first since a month ago..haha and we were like so super unfit. but yeah im really glad trainings are back:D

and we played against some of the PE teachers. freaking hilarious hahahha

and then after that i met up with some of my classmates at marcus's place:D but i had to leave early so i prbly missed out alot of fun! :(:(

anyway, something really embarassing happened on the phone the other day:

i was calling michelle but apparently i dialled the wrong number and gave some angmo person a missed call, so that person calls me back.

Person: (she has a really strong british accent) Did anyone give me a missed call?
Me: ...omg Mich you sound damn real
Person: Yes? Did anyone give me a missed call?
Me: HAHAHAa
Person: (pauses for a while) So did anyone call me?
Me: hahaha eh stop it lah!
(awkward silence)
Me: (realises its not a joke) omg.
Person: yes? (sounding annoyed) So no one gave me a missed call? Okay Bye.

hahaha stupid mich! if she doesnt do nonsense stuff like that so often i wouldnt have thought that person was her! hhaha:D

okay i dont know whats going on but theres like this really cool plane thats flying around my house and it keeps flying up and then all of a sudden it'll do a nose-dive (almost vertical omg) and then fly horizontal again and then it'll disappear and repeat the whole thing every 2-3mins!
how cool is that?
and gosh i still can't believe the ipod classic. can you imagine if all this were a dream and suddenly i wake up?0.o

Anyway, the gp paper was fine:) i chose something like "To what extent should Singapore care for other countries?" which was quite okay. oh but chinese was really crap. i couldnt understand any of the compre stories so i guessed my way through the whole paper:/

Travis Barker (Blink 182's drummer) got caught in a plane crash but miraculously survived. He and some dj guy are in critical condition but the 2 pilots and Travis's personal assistant didn't survive the crash (the plane exploded into flames)
earlier on the source mentioned that his personal assistant, chris baker was on the way to witness his wife deliver their baby. okay but apparently that was wrong information...but still, its so sad.
