I cant believe its the last day of 2008...that was fast! I'd be lying if i said i enjoyed every moment of 2008 but nevertheless, thank God! For both the good times and bad. Everything happens for a reason. And i think God has taught me a lot in 2008...and for the past few months he's been showing me areas i need to change in. Yeah, so for 2009, you'll see a COMPLETELY NEW ME!
haha. okay maybe not but yeahh i believe 2009 is gonna be an awesome year and greater things are gonna happen:D i say this every year. i can't wait to see what God has instored!

In retrospect, 2008 has been amazing.

Now i know what Michelle meant! i think his character in the movie makes him the perfect guy for any girl. but ohwell its just fiction and i gotta admit he kinda looks weird in real life. Michelle's gonna kill me! hahhaah yeahh but i still think he fits the role really well cos he just has this weird attractiveness about him. haha. And that jacob guy, Taylor Lautner the one with the grossed out noobish hair in the movie is actually really good looking..ahhhhah like a better looking version of rafael nadal. i remember watching cheaper by the dozen 2 and thinking he's gonna grow up really hot and was i right! Michelle doesnt think so though. hahaha.
but Taylor Lautner is cute in my opinion.

SUNDAY/
fellow teammates and i caught the singapore vietnam game. I was so tempted to wear the communism shirt that i bought from vietnam but thank God i didnt cos i would've been stoned to death..apparently there was like some mini riot thing going on after the match haha. Like singapore fans threw stuff, and according to my friend, some dude did like flying kicks at the vietnam fans 0.o hahhaa..cool.
but the LIVERPOOL V ARSEnal beats the singapore vietnam match any day. would have been better if we had won though.

MONDAY
was kinda dreamy, i can't remember what happened.
OH.but there was carolling at night:D I'll post the pictures later! And after carolling, we rushed down to joel leong's house to throw an early surprise birthday celebration. hahaa:D Monday was also Sharmian and Litkian's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y'ALL:)

TUESDAY
team day:) We played footsal with some of the ruggers at the cage...really cool place. we played from like 9-1pm but it passed really fast. somehow i think the place being really remote and like set apart for soccer makes it more fun altogether. hahaah and tessa was like really on form. she scored in every single match we played lah wth tessa! why must you go ausssie:( i dont care she has to do a kazhakstan cultural dance for us before she goes!
yeah, and then after that we went for bowling! which i wont talk much about cos i sucked at it.
And we went to siyi's place to chillax:D

Last Saturday.
jolena, siyi, weena, ci, tessa and i went to help coach's church with the ccis event (Celebrate Christmas in Singapore) at orchard. Its an annual event i think..cos i remember my cca doing a few performances and stuff a few years back! haha i really miss those times. But anyway, i feel this year's was a little more purposeful cos we managed to tell people why we actually celebrate Christmas. I think a lot of people have the misconception about Christmas, especially with all the commercial influences we have today. Ask anyone on the streets what comes to mind when they think of Christmas, they're most likely to mention Santa Claus, Christmas Trees, Candy Canes, Presents, Being nice, Giving,...etc. But truth is, all of these have little to no relations to Christmas at all..yeah so anyway, because i think its important to remind people what Christmas is really about, here i go:

The Birth of Jesus Christ (Matt 1:18-24)

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be born to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet. "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" - which means, "God with us."

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

So! We celebrate Christmas because on this day(25th Dec is not the real date but yeah) God, who is perfect, came to live among us sinners and died for us so that we don't have to go where we sinners belong. That is, hell.

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

The verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

hahha yesterday was the last day of training! we all thought it'll be like EXTRA EXTRA tough and really tiring but it wasn't that tough after all lah haha. For awhile we played like contact rugby,without rules:D everybody was just like anyhow jumping on each other and whacking anyhow hahaha retarded! And the worst thing is that we were training at Bowen so there were other people using the field. talk about embarassing moments0.0 heh.

Darnnn im supposed to be sleeping over at michelle's right now but we had to postpone it AGAIN:( ohwell.
Today's quite a bad day...especially cos i totally messed up during training. In fact, its been like that all week :/ I realised from soccer that i don't do too well under pressure. I know of friends who see pressure as a form of motivation but for me, the more pressure im under, the more i crack. So yeah..but i'll overcome this! And i really can't wait for the 2 weeks break cos i wanna self-train and work on the areas im bad at e.g too many touches, toe poking the ball and stuff!
Thank God tmr's thursday...which means i can sleeeep innnnnnnnnn! :D

YOUTH CAMP08

i'm supposed to be doing Differentiation Techniques now but NOO IM NOT GONNA. I GONNA BLOG BOUT YOUTH CAMPPPPPPPP! MOUNTAIN MOMMA IS SO GONNA SCREAM HER HEAD OFF if she sees me typing cos she's been nagging at me to do my work since i came back from training HAHA!

Haha okay serious things first..
im really glad i went there expecting from God cos He did not disappoint. Things are different when you go to youth camp expecting something. Way before the camp i thought a lot about how much ive failed Him this year in different areas of my life. I admit that i was really distracted by the many things going on around me...this year's come and gone in a blink of an eye and im looking back and wondering : What have i done this year that really counted? And i think that if i were God, i'd really be disappointed in Jacinth. But no. God, in all His grace reassured me that He still believed in me, and that im still very much in His thoughts and plans. In fact, i'm glad im retaining next year cos now im given another chance at making things right:) To be honest, it wasn't the sessions or the worship that really impacted me this camp. God just had to show up at the last moment of the last session...and that was all I needed to know that He still loves me very much. Now i'm ready and eagerly anticipating Year 2009:)

Okay now about the camp games and rooms and stuff! i wanted to blog a long time ago but i just didnt have the photos and all. I packed everything in except my camera:( i just KNEW i forgot something. GRRR. but thanks to Johnson, he posted all his photos on wtba. He is one AWESOME photographer:D Theres still quite a number of photos im looking for though! but i can't remember whose cameras they're taken in haha.

A really really cool place, just that the hygiene level is a total turnoff. The Flies..they're like twice the size of your average singaporean housefly and like hell more thick skinned. AND THEYRE EVERYWHERE *GASP*

This is where me and my roomies and most of the rest of us stayed at- cosy lil house things called Bandwagons:)

The games were awesome! Very different from the previous years though..like there was a whole storyline thing throughout the whole camp. My favourite game was the captains ball game but this time there were four teams playing against each other at one go and as time went by, more and more balls got added into the game. E.g basketball=1 point, soccerball=2 points, rugby ball=3 points, tennis ball=5 points, ping pong ball=7 points, cabbage=8 points, tomato=9points, chicken=10 points, and the special bouncy ball is like bonus points. something like that. This game was HILARIOUS. hahahha freaking retarded.. someone shouldve taken a video! Everyone was like fighting for the other balls but my group kept hogging the chickens hahhaha.

And during the free time some of us wanted to swim but the annoying lifeguard didnt let us in cos we wanted to jump in in tshirts n shorts. So in the end only the guys could cos they could just take out their shirts:/ And we the females almost quarrelled with the lifeguard cos he allowed some random family to swim and the father was wearing a shirt. But the lifeguard kept insisting that that was a special shirt so its different. ROARRR! okay why am i telling this story its not worth telling. But anyway, so we went to play touch rugby which turned out to be very fun and we couldnt get enough of it:D

The 4 hours bus ride home seemed really short cos we got very high with all the singing and stuff:)

and i got to talk to Zinnia a lot:) Been wanting to catch up with her for ages.

I THINK IM CAMP-SICK

first of all, HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY VANESSA!!!!!!!
of cos JIN's which was on the 5th, Miko's on the 4th and Mathieu on the 6th. I know i say this every year but i still think the consecutive birth dates thing is really cool and i totally dig it. December is like everyone's birthday lah haha.
My week was kinda hectic..trainings and lotsa birthdays.
Thursday my classmates and i threw a bbq party for Miko and Weisong at Wanfong's place:D i'll post up the photos when im back from youth camp!
And then there was Jo Wong's party at The Caribbean. That condo's like omg freaking enormous and freaking NICE. its really damn nice.. i should have took photos:( There's like this river in the middle of the condo! and the carpark alone is so huge, me and germaine got lost in it0.0 hahhaha. I dontknow how to describe la but it was really grand, like some country club or something. And it was so funny cos a few of the guys tried to dunk Marcus..but they didnt know that everyone else's plan was to dunk them. So when they threw Marcus in, we pushed them in along with him. hahahha:D okay but it wasnt funny when i got dunked myself thanks to Michelle and her scheming plot! Especially cos i was wearing SHOES. and i was planning to wear those for standard charted! haha but thank God they were more or less dried by today.

Yeah, so today! The Standard Chartered run was good, just that i was wearing an ankle guard to protect my ankle but it ended up giving me lots of problems. I made it so tight that my foot felt numb and blood-deprived throughout the whole run..but i guess it was still right to wear the guard cos my ankle's still kinda unstable on its own:/ While we did our last 100m, we were separated into 2 lanes, the 10km and 42km runners. So we could see how much we paled in comparison..but i'm pleased because last year this time, i would never have imagined myself running this. Shows that you should never put a lid on your potential:) God is good yeah!

today's training ended at 1.30:D im so relived that we're actually ending earlier from now on. cos 9-5pm is really all killer no filler! haha. Today we played against some little boys team and throughout the whole match i was having a headache and felt like puking but i was trying not to. Then in the last 3 minutes of the game i could really feel the vomit coming up my esophagus(whatever i dont take bio) and since im really nice i didnt puke on the field (its freaking astroturf) so i ran to some random drain and puked out a whole load of crap:( Im quite sure it consisted of the bananas that we ate in the morning.hahhaha. unneccesary infomation heh.

And my bro's finally back from the hospital! WOOOOHOOohoho! okay he was only there for slightly more than a day but still, its cool to have him back:) his hospital bed is really shiok i love it more than my own bed:( and the tv has espn channel hahaha. actually i dont mind living in the hospital

okay. anyway today was kinda depressing cos i badly wanted to join my teammates in training but my ankle still hurts when i kick..and i really wanna make sure its more or less recovered before i do anything that might actually worsen it. Hopefully by Wed i'll be well enough to do field training!
AND Yesterday was awesome:D I love you so much Adam&Eve! and i must say that we're really proud of you guys! and im sure God's touched at the amount of time, effort and commitment you guys put in. I really can't wait for YouthCamp:D
and i'm so happy wanfong, nic yoong, sambang and lea came! SKoOoL friends in church..how awesome is that? ahhhhhhhhhhhhh:D
